The gaming genre is in crisis! Over 19million cyberattack attempts were recorded on popular games in one recent year, according to a Kaspersky report, and these numbers are constantly growing

I found it very disappointing that there are so many people around the globe who are using hacking algorithms in online games to ruin the experience of legit players just for a few seconds of dopamine.

As a gamer who has been playing games since the 5th grade, I feel devastated by getting killed by malicious players during major rank pushing sessions. Although maxing out is becoming easier because of Marvel Rivals rank boost services, which are reliable and authentic but there are some cheaters who are never going to stop.

That’s why I’m writing this blog post to tell you how you can safeguard your delight in gaming with the help of smart analytics that will help in fostering a fair match environment during crucial games.

Let’s begin!

Key Takeaways

  • Understanding how analytics creates a level playing field
  • Decoding data usage for improving player matchmaking
  • Exploring rapid ways to spot cheating and unfair behavior of the players
  • Uncovering the game balance in making games more entertaining
  • Discovering how they will lead the future of sustainable gaming.

How Analytics Help Create a Level Playing Field

In the initial days of gaming, when Mario and Tetris used to be the sensations, devs used analytics to increase and decrease analytics to align the difficulty of the match as per the player’s skill set.

Similarly, in today’s online games, mostly in PvP’s the data helps to balance the matchmaking of teams with opponents of the same tiers or level ranking so that a match doesn’t become partial.

Using Data to Improve Player Matchmaking

As we have read the glimpse about the matchmaking in the previous section, it is not everything; in fact, matchmaking is the most crucial part of success for every game that is currently running in the market.

Its core function is to make balanced competition scenarios among two teams that are battling against each other and minimize the odds that come along the way. A good match shouldn’t be delayed and should also perform selection analysis during weaker internet breaks.

Spotting Cheating and Unfair Behavior Faster

I’ve said it earlier, and I will say it again, “Cheaters should be banned immediately, no matter what” because the pain of getting eliminated in your mastered map while having your best armory feels like hell.

But thanks to the new anti-cheat models infused by AI and ML proficiency that are rapidly eliminating emerging threats from the servers of games and giving them lifetime bans on their IP addresses. Simultaneously, companies are also focusing on the security of account logins to prevent the misuse of player IDs and in-game purchases.

New Superpowers in gaming protection

VAC anti-cheat system

Valve’s Anti-Cheat (VAC) system is a key example; its AI program, VACnet, increased conviction rates for cheating in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive from 15-30% to 80-95%.

Making Games More Fun Through Better Game Balance

Every popular game that has a million-dollar player base has one thing in common, which availability of different sets of players, from pros to rookies. Every user has a different mindset of playing the same game; some play it for fun, while others grind day and night to dominate in tournaments.

That is why every match should set odds according to the matchmaking of the player to complement both fun and competitiveness among the gamers and e-athletes.

Why Smart Analytics Matter for the Future of Competitive Gaming

So, at the end of this captivating discussion, I just want to say that emerging technologies like AI and ML are focusing their target to eliminate all the malicious activities around the servers and provide better matchmaking scenarios.

Also, gaming companies are curating more and more elements so that their game can become sustainable for players of every generation. If you are still concerned with some phases, make sure to read this page and keep striving for more such content!
